HealthLINC Can Help Physicians Receive Payment Through New Federal Program

 
Wondering how you can achieve the CMS payment incentives of $44,000 to $63,000 in 2011? HealthLINC is part of a select group of federally funded Regional Extension Centers (REC) to get you there. The program will help eligible health care professional in Southern Indiana become EMR expert users by the end of 2011.

    Thanks to a $37,500 grant to Volunteers in Medicine of Monroe County from the Indiana State Department of Health, diabetes patients in Monroe and Owen counties will find it easier to manage their condition and share vital health information with their health care providers. more
  • Indiana Practices Still Have Time to Follow the ‘MUvers’
    John Labban, M.D., has a very busy solo ob/gyn practice in Bloomington that ran out of space for paper charts. In May, he learned about web-based clinical messaging through HealthLINC and told his staff, “Let’s go for it.” They are still discovering the pros and cons of technology; however, Dr. Labban says the good things are he can work from anywhere and access patient information online any time of day. He greatly appreciates the speed of e-prescribing and definitely does not miss the pile of charts on his desk! more
  • Patient-Centered Medical Home Pilot Generating Pivotal Changes in Healthcare Delivery
    Imagine a medical practice easily accessible to patients via telephone or online, where your care is thorough, unhurried and personal. Your records are maintained electronically, making them instantly available to clinic providers and referral physicians. Coordination with specialists and community healthcare resources occurs swiftly and smoothly. You develop a care plan with your doctor and work together with your healthcare team to achieve your goals. Healthcare payers give incentives to the practice for the value of the care it delivers, rather than for the volume of care. That’s the patient-centered medical home (PCMH). more
  • Volunteers in Medicine of Monroe County has been awarded a special project grant through the Indiana State Department of Health.
    The award amount is $37,500.  We are extremely excited about the scope of this project.  We are partnering with NoMoreClipboard, a company based in Fort Wayne, Indiana who operate a personal health record (PHR) of the same name, and HealthLINC, our local Health Information Exchange (HIE).  more
